Why are some people (friends) so hard headed and not willing to listen to advice?
A buddy of mine knows Ive been on HRT for several years. At first he kept trying to tell me that HRT is not needed for anyone and low T levels were normal. lol
Now I could understand this from most people but he was my gym partner for years and is still a regular gym rat. He also has a pretty extensive medical background due to being a pharmaceutical rep for many years and other experiences.
About 1yr ago he told me he was going to be starting HRT after getting tested due to the normal low T symptoms. He said he was going to be using the gel. I told him my short experience with gel and said it probably wouldnt work. He argues quoting studies of course. I let it go.
After a few months with no improvement he said his doctor had him on 3 pumps a day and he was only just a little above normal range and was going to go up to 4 or 5. I told him it would matter but again he argues so I let it go.
A couple of months later he said he was going to switch to the pads. I again told him it probably would not work and injections were best but again he argued. Again after a few months his levels were even lower and he was getting a rash just like I told him he would.
He started injections a couple of months ago, 200mg ever 2 weeks. Yeah I had told him how it should be done and explained why and he told me I was wrong and didnt understand how the 1/2 life worked in reality. Oh and of course there was no need for hcg or AI. Of course not.... :(
Well, last night he said he is going to start 1x a week soon and his doctor was going to be checking his E2.
Of course it's his doctor who knows everything and I know nothing. lol
No, I'm not even going to try to explain how 2x a week is even better (again) because he will probably figure it out in another year or so.
I often think of the old saying, you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink.
